In addition to solar collectors, a new chip boiler house and accumulation tank were built. 90% of thermal energy is now produced from renewable energy sources, thus reducing greenhouse gases. Thanks to the innovations introduced, more than 95% efficiency has been achieved on the way from production to consumers.

On December 22, 2020, many of those who heat their homes with natural gas felt the consequences of the gas network accident. The house cooled down for several hours. Meanwhile, “Salaspils Siltums” customers were provided with a continuous heat supply - both heating and hot water.
Stability
“Salaspils Siltums” is an innovative and consumer-oriented heat supply company with many years of experience. Being in a constant development process, the company is able to provide the population with modern heat supply solutions that meet the European energy efficiency standards.
The Public Utilities Commission sets and monitors the tariffs of district heating companies. Rapid fluctuations in the natural gas market are not able to significantly affect the tariff of “Salaspils Siltums”, because a wide variety of fuels is used. Thus, we can provide our customers with a stable and predictable heat tariff.
Since October 1, 2020, “Salaspils Siltums” has reduced the heat energy tariff by 12.7% - the current tariff is 48.20 EUR/MWh.
