As part of the Keep-Warm project "Improving the operation of district heating systems in Central and Eastern Europe", Salaspils Siltums shared its experience in two webinars on June 2 and June 17 with topics about modernization of district heating systems, future challenges, and opportunities.

Modernization of District Heating Systems - energy efficiency specialist Ilze Polikarpova informs about the experience of Salaspils Siltums:

In the period from 2010 to 2020, 6 projects and 7 measures for the transition to renewable energy resources were implemented in order to promote the increase of energy efficiency.

These projects acquired multiple EU funds - within the framework of the project, heating mains were replaced and reconstructed, heat sources were replaced, a remote data reading system was installed, equipment automation took place, as well as a gradual transition to renewable energy sources - wood chips and solar.
