Opening the first large-scale solar collector field in the Baltics and Eastern Europe, on November 27, 2019, Ltd. Salaspils Siltums submitted a draft tariff to the Public Utilities Commission (PUC).
On August 28, PUC approved a new heat energy tariff for Ltd. Salaspils Siltums.
From October 1, 2020, the heat energy tariff will be 12.7% lower - 48.20 EUR / MWh.
Changes in the heat energy tariff are related to the modernization of the Salaspils city heat supply system by constructing a solar collector field with a heat energy storage tank and a biomass (wood chip) boiler house with a capacity of 3 MW.
