On March 10^th 2020 the award ceremony of “Annual Building Award 2019” took place.

Two objects received the Grand Prix awards as the most ambitious and significant projects of 2019. One of them is Ltd. “Salaspils Siltums” solar collector system in Salaspils.

Ltd. "Salaspils Siltums" developed and carried out a wide scaled project, including a solar collector field, a heat storage tank with a volume of 8000 m³ and a 3 MW boiler house that runs on wood chips. In order to enlarge the usage of renewable energy in district heating, 1720 solar collectors were installed in a 6.5 ha wide area, providing the necessary consumption energy during summer or 1/5 of the overall annual heat energy consumption.
